» The people of Iran – I wanted to begin with those words – ‘The people of Iran’: They are giving a message to the world. They are admirable, fighting for their freedom, knowing the risks, knowing many will die; they are fighting putting freedom above their security, above their own lives.
We should hear this message, here where so many of us take for granted, the freedom, brave Iranians are fighting for, risking everything! It is a message of hope. They believe… And it is the message that Freedom is invaluable.
The least the European Union can do, is to stand with the Iranian people. We have to put pressure on the Iranian government: sanction the regime and designate the IRCG as a terrorist organisation.
Dear Iranians, you, who are fighting for freedom, we stand with you! «
